BAY COUNTY, FL. ( WMBB ) – On August 12, hundreds of Bay County students will head back to school. This means several students will be commuting in cars, walkways, or buses.

District officials are reminding drivers to be cautious when driving in school zones. They encourage leaving early, packing some patience before heading out the door, and most importantly slowing down when yellow lights are flashing.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office says they will have an increased number of deputies present in school zones to ensure the safety of the students and community.
