Calhoun County 2024 Primary Election Results

Calhoun County Commissioner District 3

In the District 3 contest featured 3 Republicans, Randal Blake Chason, Darryl Glenn O’Bryan, and Lee Shelton.

O’Bryan won with 45% of the vote. With no Democrat running, he gets the seat.

Calhoun County Commissioner District 5

The other commission seat is District 5. This one also featured 3-Republicans, Chad Bailey, Andrew “Peewee” Lee, and Anthony Frank Norris.

Bailey wins tonight with 43% of the votes and captures the seat.

Calhoun County Sheriff

4-people are hoping to become the Republican nominee for the office of sheriff. James “Jimmy” Baggett, Michael Bryant, Tomasi Matautia, and Rodney W. Smith.

Bryant won with 57% of the vote.

They will face incumbent Glenn H. Kimbrel, who is running with no party affiliation, in the November general elections.

Calhoun County Clerk of the Court

The Calhoun County Clerk of Courts race was an open primary featuring 3-Republicans.
Robin “Cissy” Barfield, Nona Borelli, and Renee Attaway Crawford.

Barfield came out on top with most of the votes.

Calhoun County Property Appraiser

The Property Appraiser’s race was also an open primary. Republicans Kara Hires and Carla Tickey Peacock faced each other.

Peacock won the office with 60% of the votes.

Calhoun County Superintendent of Schools

Calhoun voters selected a school superintendent. Republicans Corey Edward Silcox and Darryl Taylor, Jr. Ran for the post.

Darryl Taylor Jr. won with 80% of the votes.

Calhoun County Tax Collector

The Tax Collector’s race was an open primary between Republicans Iris Renee Brown and Chris Rogers.

Chris Rogers got the most votes with 56% and won the office.
