BAY COUNTY, FL. ( WMBB ) – Several people were raising hands and writing checks at the Springfield government surplus auction Saturday morning.

The Florida Auction Network hosted the event at its East Business 98 location. They auctioned off a variety of vehicles, trailers, tractors, and even a fire truck. These surplus items came from the Bay County and Walton County sheriff’s offices, Bay County Commission, Panama City, Panama City Beach, Talquin Electric Co-op, and others.

Florida Auction Network Manager and Auctioneer Jon Sewell said this is a great opportunity to get good deals on used vehicles.

“It’s one of those things where this stuff gets a new life. It’s getting repurposed, getting reused. For a lot of folks, these vehicles are just an absolute blessing. It’s a great way to get the kids back and forth to school, get back and forth to work, and it’s a good way to get a very good deal on pretty much anything you buy here,” Sewell said.

Florida Auction network also has an online auction that began August 6th and runs through September 3rd. The next in-person auction will be held at the end of September.
