Former Panama City Beach mayor joins ECP as Airport Authority Chairman

BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – The former mayor of Panama City Beach is now overseeing the future of Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.

The Panama City-Bay County Airport and Industrial District elected Mark Sheldon as the new Airport Authority Chairman.

Sheldon previously served as the Vice Chair of the board.

In his new role, Sheldon will focus on diversifying and strengthening the local economy through ECP’s growth while also prioritizing the best possible experience for travelers.

According to airport officials, Sheldon’s familiarity with the region is unmatched and believes the airport will flourish under his leadership.
