BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – As Floridians prepare to hit the road for Labor Day, Florida gas prices during the holiday weekend are expected to be the lowest they’ve been in three years.

In 2023, Florida drivers paid $3.68 per gallon on Labor Day. In 2022 it was $3.52 and in 2021 it was $3.02.

As of now, the average price of gas in Florida is $3.27 per gallon. And while there can be fluctuations in prices due to increased demand from holiday travel. AAA spokesperson Mark Jenkins said gas prices should remain stable going into Labor Day weekend.

“The good news is that oil prices have remained below $80 a barrel. That has enabled gas prices to, you know, stay somewhat within range as well. As long as we don’t see a significant jump in crude oil prices, gas prices should remain well below the highest prices that we’ve seen this time this year,” Jenkins said.

Panama City remains one of the least expensive areas to fill up, with average prices currently at $3.07 per gallon. Although some stations are offering it for less.
