Panama City Police search for suspect in downtown shooting

UPDATE : The suspect is in custody. According to PCPD, all officers are unharmed and there is no longer a threat to the public.

The suspect has been located and is surrounded by authorities in Lynn Haven, Panama City Police Department said.

PCPD said to avoid the area of Arthur Dr. near Merrick Industries, the scene is unsafe.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Panama City Police are searching for a suspect in a shooting near Hotel Indigo Monday morning.

“Police have identified the suspect as Demarcus Lykes, a black male, who is driving a black GMC Yukon with an Alabama license plate of A0M1XX,” the Panama City Police Department said.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Officials said if you come into contact with Lykes or spot his car, please report to law enforcement at 850-872-3100.
