Abduction in Ponce de Leon yields arrest

HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Over the holiday weekend, Holmes County deputies were alerted to a possible abduction in Ponce de Leon.

Officers learned the caller, who was driving off Highway 90 with her friend and an 8-month-old child was forced off the road by the friend’s boyfriend, Ethan Blair.

Blair allegedly attempted to get into the caller’s vehicle, shattering a window of the truck and forcibly removing his girlfriend and the child. Officials said he then forced them into his vehicle and fled the scene.

According to HCSO, a BOLO was issued to Walton County and the vehicle was located on Highway 331. The female and child were found unharmed, officials said.

“We would like to extend our thanks to Sheriff Adkinson and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office for their invaluable assistance in safely resolving this situation,” Sheriff Tate said.

Blair was arrested and charged with Burglary, Criminal Mischief, and Battery.
