PANAMA CITY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – All throughout the month of September the Bay County Chamber of Commerce is hosting events in celebration of Industry Appreciation Month.

Some of the events taking place over the next few weeks include a networking event on Tuesday, September 17th at 4 p.m., an awards breakfast at 8 a.m. on Friday, September 20th, and a Sporting Clay Tournament at 8 a.m. on Friday, September 27th.

The chamber is also offering tours of Maritech Machine and JENSEN USA on Wednesday, September 25th.

The reason behind these tours is to provide attendees with an inside look at how certain industries operate and benefit Bay County.

“A lot of people don’t realize what these industries do and what they bring to the table,” said Bay County Chamber of Commerce Chairman Joe Holt. “For example, out here, a lot of people have never seen 9000 metric tons of copper behind them. It gives the community an insight into what these industries are doing and what they’re bringing to the community.”

These events are tailored to members of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce.
