BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – On Sunday, the motorcycle club Outlaws MC delivered thousands of pounds worth of dog food to the lucky puppy rescue nonprofit organization.

For the past 9 years, the Bay County motorcycle community participated in an evening poker run hosted by the Outlaws MC.

This year the motorcycle group used the earnings from their event to purchase 3,000 pounds worth of dog food to donate to Lucky Puppy Rescue.

Lucky Puppy Rescue provides care to around 200 dogs living on a 125-acre farm.

Gulf District Schools closed Tuesday in honor of Port St. Joe senior Chance Gainer

“Currently, we have close to 200 dogs and we are always in need of dog food. So this is a godsend to get this much food at this time. This will take us through probably another month where we can feed our dogs, feed all these unwanted dogs,” Lucky Puppy rescue employee Becky Lowrey said.

The nonprofit was originally purchased to be a property for raising cattle back in 2008.

Then stray dogs started to show up and the owner decided to open a small rescue site for dogs and since then it has only expanded.
