BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – In light of recent school shooting threats across the state of Florida, Bay District Schools released a statement regarding safety at their schools.

The district says the threat does not mention a specific school or district but that they are monitoring the situation.

Right now, there is no known threat to Bay District. Regardless, the district says they have alerted local law enforcement and they are investigating the situation.

The school will be conditioned as planned for Bay District.

Bay Haven Charter Academy released a statement on Facebook about the threats.

“While our staff and administration will make sure that school will be in session tomorrow, we understand if you prefer to keep your child home. If you choose to do so, we will offer an excused absence for the day,” Bay Haven Charter officials said.

In response to the situation, they said they will have increased law enforcement presence and will enforce security protocols rigorously on Monday, September 9th.
