SNEADS, Fla. ( WMBB ) — This week’s Scholar-Athlete of the Week sponsored by Perry and Young P.A. is Sneads’ Aaron Williams.

“Aaron is your All-American,” Sneads head football coach Bill Thomas said. “He’s your all-American student. He’s your all-American in the community. All-American football field, basketball, baseball.”

Williams does it all. In the fall he plays football, in the winter he plays basketball and in the spring he plays baseball.

It’s not often you see a linebacker in a baseball uniform. For Williams, football and baseball are his two favorite sports.

“It was my favorite sport and I got here and started liking football more,” Williams said. “I still put my heart in the baseball.”

Williams is also involved in most clubs at school, even though his schedule is already booked up with the different sports he plays.

“He could run for mayor,” Thomas said. “Everyone knows him. Teachers love him. He’s a good role model for our young kids, not just on the football field. Here’s this guy that’s president of the student council, but he’s also the guy making all the tackles.”

Williams was voted as the student council president for his senior year. He said his favorite part is talking to his fellow students and hearing their opinions.

He’s taken on a leadership role in everything he does.

“It’s been real fun teaching them the ways and giving them the ropes,” Williams said.

Willams is enrolled at Chipola and has a 4.0 GPA. His academic drive stems from his mother giving him ultimatums as a kid.

“My mom always pushed me hard in the classroom,” Williams said. “She always told me if I didn’t do my schoolwork, I couldn’t go to practice or play in games.”

Williams wants to play football in college. If he has the chance, he would also like to walk on to the baseball team.

“I love baseball and football,” Williams. “It’s been my heart for a good while and I want to continue that passion.”

Williams wants to major in sports management and become a coach. He wants to coach football at the high school level and move up to the collegiate level.

“I love the game so much that I might as well just come out here and try to help the younger kids in coaching,” Williams said.

If there is an opportunity to coach baseball down the road, Williams wouldn’t be opposed.
