Fort Walton Beach couple arrested facing five counts of child neglect

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – A Fort Walton Beach couple has been arrested and charged with five counts of child neglect after their child was spotted running through heavy traffic.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, the child was spotted running nude in the area of Green Acres Road and Green Acres Boulevard in Fort Walton Beach on Sunday morning around 9:00 a.m.

The child was reportedly running across four lanes of traffic and was covered in his own feces.

Authorities said they recognized the boy and took him to a home nearby where another child was found running nude in the area, this child also had feces on his body.

OCSO deputies and an investigator found deplorable conditions throughout the residence, and prescription medications within reach of a total of five children, all under the age of 12.

Danielle Roberson, 34, and Jacob Roberson, 32, have been charged with five counts of child neglect. The Department of Children and Families is also investigating.
