    Pedestrian hospitalized, driver in jail after suspected DUI accident

    UPDATE as of 9/13: Puppy Olive has been located. According to the Springfield Police Department, the victim had significant memory loss from the event and was unable to provide a description of the vehicle. Deputies then used parts located at the scene to identify 29-year-old Casey Ross. Ross has been arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence with Serious Bodily Injury and Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Serious Bodily Injury.

    BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Springfield police are investigating a car accident Thursday night that sent a local man to the hospital.

    He was hit while walking his dogs. The accident happened around 8:30 Thursday.

    Springfield Assistant Police Chief Russell Voyles said the man was walking his two dogs when he was hit by a car on Douglas Road.

    One of the dogs ran away. They are still searching for the puppy at this time.

    Chief Voyles said witnesses saw a car in the area, an officer tracked the vehicle down. The female driver is facing DUI charges.

    They are still investigating to see if this is the same driver that hit the pedestrian.
