BAY COUNTY, FL. ( WMBB ) – A local big cat sanctuary helped in the effort to house humans for a change on Saturday.

Bear Creek Feline Center partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help stock up their restores.

The non-profit helps provide affordable housing to families. Funds from selling items at the stores are used to buy materials needed to build habitat homes.

The Big Cat Sanctuary re-gifted several items that were donated to them over the years such as lamps, clothes, headboards, fencing, and more. Bear Creek and Habitat officials say they’re excited to help people get their forever homes.

“Everything that’s donated to the restores and then sold not only helps the community because it’s lower priced items, but it also supports our mission overall,” Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Angela Klopf said.

“They have habitats for people and we have habitats for cats, so it was a perfect match made in heaven if you want to say,” Bear Creek Feline Center Educational Director Bertie Broaddus said.

Habitat for Humanity has 2 restore locations on Beck Avenue and 11th Street. For more information, click here.
