    Mississippi man arrested following an alert of a stolen vehicle in Walton County

    WALTON COUNTY, FL. ( WMBB ) – The Walton County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a FLOCK alert on 331 South, on Friday.

    According to a news release, DeFuniak Springs Police said they received a FLOCK hit on a stolen 2024 Red Ford Bronco.

    Deputies said they located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at a nearby hotel.

    The driver 43-year-old, Will Russel May of Gulf Port Mississippi claimed the vehicle owner gave him permission to use the SUV, authorities wrote. May also claimed he used his credit card to book a room at the hotel.

    Contact was made with the victim of the vehicle and with the reporting jurisdiction who confirmed the vehicle to be stolen, officials wrote.

    Investigators said the vehicle was owned to our impound lot where the owner was making arrangements to have it picked up.

    May was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail. He received a $5,000 bond and is still incarcerated.
