Santa Rosa Beach man facing several charges for child porn

WALTON COUNTY, FL. ( WMBB ) – A Santa Rosa Beach man is facing several charges for child porn.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit first began investigating 33-year-old Collin James Parris in January.

Investigators said it was after receiving two separate tips from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children that someone online had been transmitting child porn.

After receiving search warrants in March from Google and Meta regarding specific data, authorities said they were able to identify Parris as their suspect in this case.

Authorities arrested Parris on Wednesday at his home on Woodland Drive.

Parris was charged with six counts of possession of child pornography, nine counts of transmitting child pornography, and using a two-way device in the commission of a felony.

Parris is being held in the Walton County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
