GULF COUNTY, FL. ( WMBB ) – The Port St. Joe Police Department arrested two women at a Little League football game at Gene Raffield on Saturday.

Authorities said the encounter was “embarrassing” and “inexcusable behavior”.

According to a news release, one woman committed battery on the other. Another woman was asked to leave for reportedly yelling slurs and profanities. However, authorities said she failed to follow lawful orders and was arrested for resisting arrest without violence.

This incident appears to be related to a domestic situation but did happen in front of fans and children, authorities confirmed.

Port St. Joe Police Department released this statement in a Facebook Post:

This is no place for bickering and fighting. Every day, the morals and ideals of Youth Football extend well beyond the boundaries of sports. Youth sports is a program of service to youth. It is geared to provide an outlet of healthful activity and training under good leadership in the atmosphere of wholesome community participation. The movement is dedicated to helping children become good and decent citizens. It inspires them with a goal and enriches their lives toward the day when they must take their places in the world. It established the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play. After this despicable situation, these words have never been more relevant than they are right now.
