    Several Panhandle organizations announce closures due to potential tropical storm

    PANHANDLE, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Several local agencies in the Panhandle have announced closures due to the potential impact of Tropical Storm Helene.

    • All Florida Department of Health in Bay, Walton, and Okaloosa County offices will be closed on Thursday, September 26. Offices will remain closed until further notice.
    • The courthouses in Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington counties will be closed starting Wednesday, September 25. Bay County Courthouse will be open until 3 p.m. The Clerk’s office is open Friday in the Bay County courthouse. Walton County Courts & Okaloosa County Courts will also be closed on Thursday. All courthouses plan to reopen on Monday, September 30.
    • The U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) announces Bonifay and Marianna offices will close Wednesday by 2 p.m.
    • The following Panhandle City Hall offices will also be closed on Thursday, September 26: Panama City, Lynn Haven, & Marianna
    • All Life Management Center outpatient clinics will be closed on Thursday. The Gulf County clinic will remain closed on Friday. Crisis services remain operational and open throughout this period, this includes Crisis Stabilization Unit and Crisis Emergency Services.
    • Beginning at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, the U.S. Coast Guard will advance their port condition to ZULU. Port terminal and cargo operations are suspended at the East and West Terminals for the duration of Hurricane Helene.
