BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – A Rutherford High School student was arrested after allegedly threatening to set her school on fire.

The 14-year-old student, Celena Martinez, showed the post to her parents and asked to stay home because of the threat, Bay County Sheriff’s Office said.

The parent agreed and called the school to report the post. BCSO investigators determined the student had photoshopped the post to appear authentic when she had been the one to create it, as a way to stay home from school.

Martinez was arrested and charged with Written or Electronic Threats to Kill which is a second-degree felony.
