BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – If you and your family are looking for a good way to spend a nice autumn evening, the Bay County Parks and Recreation Department has you covered.

They are hosting their annual “Pumpkin Patch Festival” at H.G. Harder’s Park on Saturday, October 19th from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

This free festival has fun for the entire family including game booths, a costume contest, face painting, food vendors, and more.

This annual festival requires the time and effort of all Bay County departments, as most aspects of the community gathering are solely handled by the county government.

“The Parks and Rec Department, we build all these games in-house, and then the other departments around the county, they volunteer their time to do the same and run these booths,” Bay County Parks & Rec Division Manager Vince Martin said. “It’s good for the community, I mean, it brings everybody together every year, and it’s just something fun for them to do, and it’s a free activity.”

Throughout October, the Bay County government is holding a pet Halloween costume contest and a pumpkin carving contest.
