PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Crusen’s saved its best for last.

The Reds scored four times in the seventh inning to beat defending champion Pour Bros. 6-2 and win the Sunday Morning League title on Tuesday at Dozer Park.

Crusen’s needed a 4-3 win Monday to force a deciding third game of the series. Pour Bros. won the championship series opener, 4-2, on Sunday.

Crusen’s jumped out to a 2-0 lead but saw the lead slip away when Pour Bros. tied the game after four innings.

Payton Hankins’ infield hit scored Kadin Spencer from third with the go-ahead run in the seventh. The Reds added three more runs in their final at-bat to secure the title in the 109-year-old league.

The Peoria Sunday Morning League is the oldest amateur baseball league in the nation. The league was founded by Peoria area businesses.
