Bloomington Bison share excitement for inaugural season

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — The Bloomington Bison are ready for the puck to drop on Saturday.

“It’s been a long off-season, trying to prepare the roster, getting everything sorted out with the affiliates. To see it all culminating with the guys here now finally and getting to implement some of our practice drills, it’s been really exciting,” said Head Coach Phillip Barski.

The puck drops at 7 p.m. on Saturday against the Toledo Walleye at the Grossinger Motors Arena.

“This is just cultivating so many months of hard work, something the area hasn’t seen in quite some time. It’s affiliated NHL hockey and affordable family entertainment,” said Andy Zilch, director of media relations and broadcasting.

There will be a fan fest before the game beginning at 4:30 p.m.
