    Bloomington man identified as victim of I-74 crash

    MORTON, Ill. (WMBD) — The Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley has identified the man who died during a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday.

    According to Hanley, Jason Stephens, 44, of Bloomington was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:23 p.m. on Interstate 74 near Morton.

    The preliminary autopsy findings show that he died from multiple blunt force injuries due to the motor vehicle collision. He was dead before the vehicle caught fire.

    According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened at around 9:43 p.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of I-74 when a pickup truck collided head-on with a Semi.

    This incident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.
