PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Neighborhood House Association Peoria hosted its annual coat drive Friday morning.

The organization had hundreds of coats to give away thanks to community donations.
Community members could choose between a variety of coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and light jackets.

The CEO of Neighborhood House Peoria Julie Bonar said it’s rewarding to help someone in need find the perfect winter coat.

“It’s really been exciting,” Bonar said. “I was helping an individual earlier today that found a really fashionable coat that will keep her warm, but it’s something that she also can wear to church and, you know, things like that. And so people are very happy when they can find something that they look good and feel good wearing.”

This was the 39th year Neighborhood House Peoria has put on the annual coat drive.
