OSF HealthCare celebrates 40 years of life-saving flights

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — OSF HealthCare celebrated 40 years of air-medical transportation throughout Illinois on Friday.

OSF started its Life Flight back in 1984 and has since provided 24/7 critical care to Illinois. They even have helicopters in Bloomington, Galesburg, Peru and Rock Falls.

At the celebration, OSF showed off its new D3 Airbus H145 helicopter to put them at five state-of-the-art helicopters according to OSF.

“This 40-year milestone is a testament to the dedication of our team and the trust we’ve built with the communities we serve,” said Kathleen Devine, vice president of OSF Aviation. “The Airbus H145 represents our ongoing mission to deliver top-tier care to patients across Illinois.”

They feel the celebration underscored their commitment to patients due to advanced technology, strong community partnerships, and a highly skilled team.
