PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. (WMBD) — It was all treats and no tricks for these dogs and their owners getting in on some early Halloween fun Sunday afternoon.

Camp Bow Wow Peoria and East Peoria hosted its annual “Howl-O-Ween” at Pour Bros Craft Taproom in Heritage Square.

Dubbed “ Pups ‘n Pints ,” the event raised money for the Bears Bites Foundation , which gives grants to pets in need to help pay for their medical care bills.

They held raffles, had a dog and pet owner costume contest, and of course many different types of craft beer.

First place in the costume contest went to the Pink Ladies, from the movie “Grease,” followed by a “dog-ter” and patient, and then Cinderella and her handler, the fairy godmother, came in third.

Camp Bow Wow owner Cassie Snell said she hopes to see “Howl-O-Ween” grow bigger and better in years to come.

“Just the way we like to humanize our dogs. We like to make them feel part of the family. And this is what we do with our kids. And everybody treats our dogs like kids. So it’s part of the fun,” said Snell.

This is the seventh year Camp Bow Wow has put on its “Howl-O-Ween” party.
