Soderstrom Castle holds inaugural Trick or Tuba

PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. (WMBD) — Local high school students put on a Halloween-themed tuba concert at Soderstrom Castle.

The inaugural Trick or Tuba concert brought hundreds out to Grandview Drive in Peoria Heights.
The free outdoor concert featured spooky hits like “The Addams Family” theme and music from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

Many guests and even musicians dressed up as some of their favorite characters.

Carl Soderstrom said there are already talks of making trick or tuba an annual event.

“You come at it from the standpoint of the kids, you know, what do they want? If I was a kid, this is what I would want. So I get to have a great time here, and we have taffy apples and all the fun stuff that I would like if I were a kid. And so we just let everybody come and have a good time,” he said.

The concert featured more than 40 instruments from the tuba family.
