Beaufort Elementary opens their outdoor learning center

BEAUFORT, N.C. (WNCT) — In Carteret County, students are getting a new look at learning.

The Big Rock Outdoor Learning Center at Beaufort Elementary has newly opened. The school received a $50 thousand grant from the Big Rock Foundation. The Carteret Community Foundation and NC Youth Outdoor Engagement Commission also helped make this possible.

From an outdoor classroom to a greenhouse and even a chicken coop, this center will provide a lot of hands-on learning experiences for students.
