No. 2 UTSA eliminated in AAC Tournament, ECU faces Wichita State at 1 p.m. Thursday

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Sixth-seeded Florida Atlantic defeated No. 2 seed UTSA, 12-5, in an elimination game at the 2024 American Baseball Championship presented by Regions on Wednesday afternoon, May 22 at BayCare Ballpark.

With the win, The Owls (27-28) advance to play the loser between Charlotte and Tulane on Friday, May 24 on ESPN+, 47 minutes after the day’s first game at 1 p.m. Eastern.

Down 3-1, Florida Atlantic scored six in the top of the fourth inning and three more in the seventh to open up the game.

Christian Adams led the Owls, going 4-for-4 and was one of four Florida Atlantic players to drive in two runs. Ten different Owls crossed the plate.

Trey Beard earned the win for the Owls, striking out four in five innings of work with three runs allowed.

Caleb Hill and Diego Diaz recorded two hits for the Roadrunners (32-24). Ulises Quiroga (8-2) allowed six runs (five earned) on 3+ innings with four strikeouts.
