GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The Coastal Plain League kicked off its season Thursday with two intriguing games involving local teams.

• The Greenville Yard Gnomes went to Virginia to take on the Tri-City Chili Peppers. Greenville got four runs in the first inning but a 10-run fourth inning did the Yard Gnomes in, resulting in a 12-9 loss.
