GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The Greenville Yard Gnomes will have their first-ever home game on Friday at Guy Smith Stadium.

Greenville Yard Gnomes set for season, home debut

The newest member of the Coastal Plain League started its season on the road Thursday at the Tri-City Chili Peppers, dropping a 12-9 decision. The two teams square off again Friday at 6:30 p.m.

“I think we obviously wanna make our mark in the CPL right off the bat and obviously any team wants to win a championship,” Greenville General Manager Michael Villafanna said. “So that’s our end goal. I think we’ve put together a competitive roster that will have the opportunity to do that so if we can bring it home the first season, I think it would be great and, hopefully, it’ll build success for future years.”
