KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Lenoir County SPCA and Lucky Cats of Kinston are teaming up to host a “Spay-A-Thon” in late September.

Their goal is to spay or neuter ninety cats over the two day event. The spay/neuter process will be low cost to mitigate kittens flooding local shelters. Every cat seen will be spayed/neutered and can get their rabies vaccinations. Unhoused cats will also get a FVRCP vaccination and an ear tip, which is the universal symbol for a spayed/neutered cat. The minimum donation is set at $50 for cats in traps, $105 for female cats in carriers and $90 for male cats in carriers. The FVRCP vaccination will be available for cats in carriers for an additional $15 donation.

The Community PetsMobile Veterinary Clinic will come to Kinston on September 28, and stay through the 29.
