ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCT) — Wednesday, Brightspeed, Governor Roy Cooper, U.S. Congressman Don Davis, Nash County Public Schools, and community leaders gathered at Rocky Mount High School to celebrate the launch of high-speed fiber internet for more than 30,000 families and small businesses in the area.

Brightspeed presented a $3,000 donation to Communities in Schools, NC, a nonprofit in Nash and Edgecombe counties.

“All North Carolinians deserve access to high-speed internet to be able to take advantage of health care, jobs, educational opportunities and more,” Governor Roy Cooper said. “Brightspeed’s investments in Eastern North Carolina and beyond are helping to bring affordable, reliable high-speed internet and digital know-how to all corners of our state.”

I have heard nothing but complaints about Brightspeed service for months, especially if you need repairs you will get a date six weeks out. No thanks. We do need a competitor for Optimum though because they are too expensive and keep raising their prices monthly with no explanation.
