NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) — The International Paper Foundation approved a $65,000 grant to the CarolinaEast Foundation to renovate its rehabilitation hospital.

The renovation will give patients opportunities to take part in activities simulating real-life situations during rehabilitation.

“Although our current Activities of Daily Living Apartment has served us well over the past 30 years, the signs of wear and tear that inevitably develop in a cherished space are evident,” Director of Rehabilitation Services at CarolinaEast Renee Newsom said. “The goal of this project is to rehabilitate the area where our patients rehabilitate. We seek to empower all those who utilize the ADL Apartment by reviving and enhancing its possibilities.”
