SNOW HILL, N.C. (WNCT) – Snow Hill Police said a person robbed the Speedway in the 1100 block of Kingold Boulevard early Friday morning.

According to a Facebook post from Snow Hill Police, officers and Greene County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at the store to investigate the reported armed robbery just before 3:30 a.m.

“The suspect then took the register’s cash drawer and left on foot. Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist with a K9 track that led officers northwest to the area of Gregory Ave. where the K9 ended the track,” the post from SHPD stated.

Police said the cash register drawer was recovered along with a black toy gun.

No arrests have been made.  The investigation is ongoing. Any information can be reported to SHPD at 252-560-9022.
