GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The Hilton Garden Inn hotel in downtown Greenville has been under construction for a year now. Last October, representatives said the hope was for it to be completed by August of this year.

With just days until the end of August, the Hilton Garden Inn is anticipating a new completion date. With multiple obstacles delaying the process, the construction team is hopeful to get the job done.

“Our construction team is telling us now that we are hoping to be open by the end of November, so that’s exciting,” Managing Partner of Co-X Properties Scott Diggs said. “So we’ll have a soft opening for the month of December and then be fulfilled and ready to go January 1 with our hotel.”

The original plan was to have the hotel done before football season. Even though this will not happen, once the hotel is open, the eight-story building will offer parents of college students and out-of-state visitors a place to stay, a rooftop restaurant and a full view of the city.
