    New Bern man charged after law enforcement search finds meth, cocaine

    NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) — A New Bern man was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024 after law enforcement searched a home and found multiple illegal drugs.

    Officers found roughly 163 grams of methamphetamine, 38 grams of cocaine, 2.9 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 21.3 pounds of marijuana and $2,852.

    Paul Irvin Ellison, 37, was charged with:

    • Trafficking methamphetamine by possession
    • Trafficking cocaine by possession
    • Trafficking marijuana by possession
    • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule I controlled substance
    • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance
    • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule VI controlled substance
    • Felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for controlled substances
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia

    Ellison was jailed in the Craven County Detention Center under a $2.5 million secured bond.
