GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Daphlie Lampa was born in Haiti. She grew up in New Jersey and eventually had two sons. They made their way to North Carolina and it was always on her radar to open a food truck.

Now she gets to show her sons what it means to work hard and see that hard work pay off.

“I get a joy to know that people enjoy good food and I enjoy making it. And so it was always a goal to have that food truck,” Lampa said. “As a Haitian and as any other, you know, group of people from anywhere, we believe in hard work and it pays. You work hard and, you know, it’s going to pay off.”

Daphlie’s Haitian-Carribean Food truck is typically set up at various spots throughout the week. Their food carries a lot of spice but they’ve got plenty of watermelon lemonade on hand to wash it down.
