GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — On Saturday, Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium at East Carolina University will be filled with a sea of purple and gold and stores around Greenville are helping to make that possible.

The home opener is an opportunity that comes along once a year and stores like University Book Exchange in downtown Greenville have been preparing since January.

Chad Thompson, the sportswear manager at UBE says home games bring in a large chunk of the store’s yearly revenue. This comes along with a spike of sales during all of football season.

“The home football games are the six busiest days of the year, so they’re big time sales events for us,” said Thompson.
