Episode 2 of ‘Inside Pirate Athletics’

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — After the East Carolina University football team started their season with a blowout 42-3 win over Norfolk State, head coach Mike Houston is ready to get on episode two of Inside Pirate Athletics to discuss it.

Patrick Johnson of 94.3 The Game and “The Patrick Johnson Show” is the shows host.

Transfer quarterback Jake Garcia completed 23 of 36 passes for 308 yards with four touchdowns.

The Pirate offense churned out 506 total yards, surpassing their yardage for any game during the 2023 season. On the other hand, they had six turnovers and seven penalties. The defense held the Spartans to 114 total yards and forced 12 punts.

Other transfers such as Winston Wright Jr., Casey Kelly and Gavin Gibson also fit right into the Pirate mindset and played key roles in the big win.
