DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — On Wednesday, the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding an elderly woman who may be missing from her home in Kenansville.

65-year-old Betty Pate was last seen in her residence on West Best Road on Tuesday at 7 p.m. She is described as about 5’5, grey shoulder length hair and brown eyes.

Duplin County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area to begin their search. A call for expanded search management was made, including Duplin County Fire and Emergency Management. On Wednesday, NC Emergency Management was notified before responding and sending people out to search.

The public is asked to not conduct any searches in the area, but to report any evidence, suspicious activity or clues to Duplin County 911 Communications at 910-296-0115.
