KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — In Kinston residents are on edge after three separate shootings at the same location.

Fourth suspect arrest in Kinston residential shooting

The shooting left one person dead and two others injured. All three shootings took place at Mitchell Wooten Apartments on Adkin Street, which is only a few miles away from the Kinston Police Department. The department said that they’ve increased patrolling in the area.

“We have always patrolled, but especially now it’s heightened due to the crime in that general area. We’ve stepped up patrol and you know in those particular areas where we have issues. Especially in Mitchell Wooten.” said Sgt. Doug Connor, Sergeant of Criminal Investigations Division at KPD.

Four suspects were arrested and placed in the Lenoir County Jail under secured bonds. Kinston Police said that none of them lived at the complex.
