Greenville Utilities warns customers of scams

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — On Thursday, Greenville Utilities Commission issued a statement on Facebook regarding recent scams.

According to their statements, they have received reports from customers, especially commercial customers, that scammers have calls multiple times and are demanding people pay using pre-paid gift cards. They said this is just one of the many red flags they’ve seen.

GUC also said that they would not ask for payment over the phone, nor do they ask for pre-paid debit cards.
