Law enforcement searching for suspect in potential stabbing, robbery in Morehead City

MOREHEAD CITY — The Morehead City Police Department responded Friday to a call concerning a potential stabbing and robbery.

A victim was found shortly after 3 p.m. in the area of The Happycakes Cupcakery in Morehead City. EMS workers took the victim to Carteret Health Care with minor injuries.

Law enforcement searched the area for two hours looking for a suspect. Traffic in the area was re-opened around 5:15 p.m. As of 6 p.m., no suspect has been found and the investigation continues. There is no believed ongoing threat to the public.
