    Three charged in fatal Jacksonville shooting

    JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Law enforcement officers with the Jacksonville Police Department responded to a home on Lakewood Drive on Aug. 5, 2024 in regards to a shooting.

    Officers found a man had been shot inside the home. EMS workers tended to the victim who was taken to Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune and later pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Zhyshawn Jahmel Owens, 22, of Jacksonville.

    Three people, including a juvenile, have been charged as a result of an investigation. That juvenile has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and possession of a handgun by a minor.

    Nina James, 41, of Jacksonville, was charged with two counts contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Raenya Black, 21, of Jacksonville, was charged with violating storage of firearms to protect minors.

    Why did the minor have the gun and why are adults (supposed adults), not safeguarding weapons?

    And that Minor should be charged as an adult according to the updated law and his name and picture should be shown..Why isn't it?
