NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) — On Saturday over 1,200 cyclists registered to ride to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

This event is organized by the National MS Society in hopes to raise both funds and awareness to help find a cure for the disease. This is a two-day ride, with four different routes that participants can choose from.

“We are really hoping to raise money for a cure, for programs to support people living with MS, we support caregivers. Obviously, the research is a huge piece to investing in the research to put more drugs on the market, to help people with their symptoms and then hopefully eventually find a cure,” says Casey Svanda, the director of Bike MS for the greater Carolinas.
