NORFOLK, VA (WNCT) — For the second-straight week, the ECU football team defeated a team from the Tidewater area of Virginia.

The Pirates hung on to secure a 20-14 victory over Old Dominion, led by 131 rushing yards and two touchdowns from graduate student Rahjai Harris.

The Pirates struggled with turning the ball over for the second-straight week as quarterback Jake Garcia threw four interceptions in the game.

ECU was able to force two Old Dominion turnovers. Garcia threw for 283 yards and Anthony Smith led the team in receiving with five catches for 70 yards.

ECU outrushed the Monarchs as a team 183-95 and stuffed an ODU drive to end the game near midfield. The Pirates are 2-0 and will host Appalachian State next week at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
