    New Bern man arrested for cruelty to animals

    NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) — The New Bern Police Department arrested a man accused of neglecting dogs at his home. Aljon Adoph, 36, was jailed in the Craven County Jail and he was charged with misdemeanor cruelty to animals. Adoph has a $1,000 secured bond.

    While investigating, officers found severely malnourished dogs at a property near Forbes Alley. Eight of them were taken by Animal Control to the Craven-Pamlico Animal Services Center.

    Crime Stoppers tipped law enforcement off. New Bern Police Department is continuing to work with Craven-Pamlico Animal Services while they receive care.
