GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A man pled guilty Thursday, Sept. 5, to four counts of trafficking fentanyl from 2019 to 2023.

Darrin Patterson was sentenced to 7-and-a-half to 10 years in prison followed by an active sentence of just less than six years to more than seven years and a fine of $150,000.

Pitt County Sheriff’s deputies investigated Patterson in 2019 leading to the seizure of nine grams of fentanyl. In March of 2020, they arrested Patterson and recovered 15 grams of fentanyl.

The Greenville Regional Drug Task Force then began investigating Patterson in February of 2023 and bought fentanyl undercover from him. This led to his arrest and the seizure of more than 28 grams of fentanyl.
