    Man charged with cocaine, marijuana possession after traffic stop

    PRINCEVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A man was arrested after a traffic stop in Princeville Tuesday night.

    The driver, Ahmad James, had an active order for arrest out of Edgecombe County. James’ vehicle was stopped and he was taken into custody.

    Law enforcement officers said James was known to sell and deliver cocaine in the past. K9 Officer Kaylo alerted officers to the trunk of the vehicle where they searched.

    Officers found the following:

    • Approximately 17.5 grams of powder cocaine
    • Approximately 8.8 grams of crack/cocaine
    • Approximately 274 grams of marijuana

    James was charged with:

    • Two counts possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine
    • Possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana
    • Felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance

    James was jailed without bond due to the pending cases out of Edgecombe County.
